Pride

Why do people debate for the sake of pride
Disagree just so they can be heard
Find the opposite of their opponent's opinion
To prove them wrong

Feel good by winning an argument
Satisfied by nurturing their ego
Feel superior while abusing power
Refused to appear vulnerable

I too do that
Every now and then
And realize it's
not worth my time

Soon regret it
When it's too late
To know pride
Leads you  nowhere

Let your speech at all times be gracious,
seasoned as it were with salt, so that you may never be at loss
to know how you ought to answer anyone
(Colossians 4:6)
